Terms of Use — Intelligent Buyers

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Intelligent Buyers website (intelligentbuyers.co.uk) and the services we provide. By using the site or any of our services, you agree to these terms.

Intelligent Buyers is a trading name of Green Funnel Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16998010). Registered office: 14-15 Montpellier Arcade Montpellier Street, Cheltenham, Glos, United Kingdom, GL50 1SU.

2. What we provide

Intelligent Buyers provides the following services to UK homeowners, free of charge:

Solar readiness assessment

An online quiz that assesses your household energy profile, including likely monthly energy usage. Based on your answers, you are categorised as a low, medium, or high energy user. The assessment also covers key solar purchasing topics including export limits, savings claims, warranties, quote comparison, and installer trust.

Personalised report

Based on your quiz answers, a tailored guide addressing the specific areas where better knowledge may help you make an informed decision. This report is generated using AI drawing on our solar knowledge base. At launch, reports are produced as structured outputs matched to your energy usage category. Content is sourced from verified industry data.

Installer matching

If you request it, we match you with up to three MCS-certified installers who meet the Intelligent Buyers certification standard and cover your postcode area.

Survey requests

If you choose to proceed, you may request surveys from your matched installers. Installers respond with their best available pricing based on your specification. The homeowner controls which companies receive their details.

£250 voucher

When you proceed with an installation through one of our matched installers, a £250 voucher is applied directly to your final invoice. See Section 6 for full voucher terms.

Guides and market data

Free educational content about solar panels, battery storage, and home energy based on verified data from MCS, Ofgem, and other authoritative sources.

Voice verification service

When you submit your phone number on the results page and request a survey, an automated verification call may be placed to the number you provide. This call is made by an AI voice assistant — not a human. In accordance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA 2024), the AI nature of the call will be disclosed at the start of the interaction. The purpose of the call is to verify your contact details, issue your authorisation code, and, if you choose, connect you directly with an available MCS-certified installer. By submitting your phone number and requesting a survey, you are providing explicit consent for this verification call.

3. Who can use our services

Our services are available to UK residents aged 18 or over who are homeowners, leaseholders, or landlords with authority to commission work on the property in question.

Our installer certification service is available to UK-based companies holding current MCS certification for at least one relevant technology.

4. Your responsibilities

When using our services, you agree to:

→Provide accurate and truthful information in the quiz and any forms you complete.
→Not use the service for any commercial purpose other than its intended use (obtaining solar guidance and installer recommendations for a specific property).
→Not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit our reports, guides, or data without our written permission.
→Not attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the operation of the website or quiz.

5. Our role and limitations

We are not an installer.

Intelligent Buyers does not install solar panels, battery storage, or any other equipment. We provide information, assessment, and introductions.

We are not a financial adviser.

Our reports include estimated costs, savings, and payback periods based on published market data and the information you provide. These are indicative estimates, not financial advice. Actual costs and savings depend on factors specific to your property, energy usage, and the installer's quotation.

We do not guarantee installer work.

While every installer in our network meets our certification standard at the point of assessment, we do not warrant or guarantee the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any installation carried out by a third-party installer. Your contract for installation is between you and the installer, not between you and Intelligent Buyers.

We do not guarantee specific outcomes.

Solar generation, energy savings, and payback periods are influenced by factors including roof orientation, shading, weather, energy usage patterns, and electricity tariff rates. Any estimates we provide are based on reasonable assumptions and published data, but they are not guarantees.

Our reports are generated using AI.

Your personalised report is produced by an AI system drawing on a curated knowledge base of verified solar industry information. While we take care to ensure accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. Our guides and published data are reviewed by our team and sourced from named, verifiable references.

6. The £250 voucher

The Intelligent Buyers £250 voucher is subject to the following terms:

→The voucher is available to homeowners who receive installer matches through the Intelligent Buyers platform and proceed with an installation from one of their matched installers.
→To redeem the voucher, you are required to complete a verification step. When you submit your phone number and request a survey, you may receive an automated verification call. During this call, you will be issued a unique authorisation code. You must quote this code to your chosen installer before signing a contract. The installer confirms the deduction in writing before you sign.
→Your unique authorisation code will also be sent to your verified email address following the verification call.
→The £250 is deducted directly from the installer's final invoice to you. There is no cashback and no separate claim process beyond the verification step described above.
→The voucher applies to one installation per household.
→The voucher cannot be combined with other Intelligent Buyers promotions unless stated otherwise.
→The voucher has no cash alternative and is not transferable.
→We reserve the right to modify or withdraw the voucher at any time. Any voucher confirmed in writing by an installer before withdrawal will be honoured.
→The voucher is funded from the introduction fee paid by the installer. It is not an additional charge to your installation — it is a rebate from our margin.

7. Installer certification

Intelligent Buyers certifies installers against a published multi-criteria standard covering MCS certification, electrical accreditation (NAPIT/RECC), Companies House verification, Google review rating (minimum 4.0), and confirmed installation team capacity. Further criteria covering technical accreditation, business stability, customer service, workforce standards, installation quality, ethical sales practices, and customer outcomes are assessed as part of the onboarding process.

Certification indicates that the installer met the standard at the point of assessment. It does not constitute an ongoing guarantee. Certification is subject to ongoing monitoring, including monthly Google review checks, and periodic renewal, and can be suspended or revoked at our discretion.

The certification methodology is proprietary. We publish what we assess but not how we score. This protects the integrity of the standard.

Certified installers are assessed independently. No commercial relationship between Intelligent Buyers and an installer influences the certification decision.

8. Data and privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points:

→We do not sell your data.
→We do not share your contact details without your explicit consent.
→Installers receive your name and postcode area only when you request matching, and only receive your email and phone when you choose to connect with them.
→When you submit your phone number and request a survey, you are providing consent for an outbound automated verification call from an AI assistant. This call is the mechanism by which your voucher authorisation code is issued and your contact details are confirmed. The AI nature of the call will be disclosed at the outset in accordance with DMCCA 2024.
→You can request deletion of your data at any time.
→The data processors used in delivering this service are listed in Section 12.

9. Intellectual property

All content on the Intelligent Buyers website — including text, guides, reports, data, design, logos, and the Intelligent Buyers name and badge — is owned by Green Funnel Ltd or used under licence.

You may view, download, and print our guides and reports for personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to our content freely. You may not reproduce, modify, or commercially exploit any content without our written permission.

Your personalised report is generated for your use. You are free to share it with any installer, adviser, or family member. You may not publish it publicly or use it for commercial purposes.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

→Intelligent Buyers is not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your use of our reports, guides, data, or installer recommendations.
→We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any installer, including but not limited to defective work, delays, cost overruns, or failure to honour warranties.
→We are not liable for inaccuracies in estimated costs, savings, generation figures, or payback periods, whether produced by our AI systems, derived from third-party data, or based on information you provided.
→Our total liability for any claim arising from the use of our services is limited to the amount of any fees you have paid to us — which, for homeowners, is zero.
→Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability which cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Disputes with installers

If you have a dispute with an installer you were connected with through Intelligent Buyers:

→Your contract is with the installer, not with Intelligent Buyers. Any warranty, guarantee, or service commitment is between you and the installer.
→All MCS-certified installers are required to be members of an approved consumer code (such as RECC) which provides free alternative dispute resolution.
→If you believe an installer in our network has fallen below the Intelligent Buyers standard, please contact us at certification@intelligentbuyers.co.uk. We take such reports seriously and they may result in review, suspension, or revocation of the installer's certification.
→We will assist in signposting you to the appropriate complaints or dispute resolution service, but we are not a party to the dispute.

12. Third-party services

Our platform uses the following third-party services:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current version. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
